The National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories (NFCSF) and the Indian Sugar Mills Association (ISMA) have recently introduced an online platform to market their goods, reports Indian Express.
Sources say, the online platform will allow for greater access as well as better price realization. Chances of cartelization will reduce heavily, sources add. The portal is compliant with the various provisions of GST.
The portal has registrations of more than 700 buyers active and training sessions are being conducted across the country to familiarise the sugar industry with the portal.
This season, the portal hopes to see registration of over 100 millers and sale of 5 lakh tonnes of sugar.
