The Chairman of Apex Bank Mr Ashok Bajaj has paid tributes to Sundar Lal Patwa who died of a heart attack Wednesday morning at the age of 92.
Calling him as the first Chief Minister who waived off farmers’ loan, Bajaj said the people of the state will remember the contributions of the departed leader for years to come.
Ashok Bajaj also remembered the padyatra undertaken by late Patwa form Bastar to Jhabua which galvanized the party cadre at that time. It is an irreparable loss to the state, he lamented.
Patwa had the luck to become the CM of Madhya Pradesh twice in his life time- once in 1980 and second time in 1990. He was also a member of RSS.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also tweeted his grief “Saddened on the passing away of Shri Sunder Lal Patwa. He was a hardworking & dedicated leader whose good work as MP CM will be remembered.”
