The well-known face in cooperative banking circles and AP Mahesh Cooperative Urban Bank Managing Director & CEO Umesh Chand Asawa retired on Tuesday. Now the temporary charge has been handed over to General Manager Raghuram Shetty.
A list of four names has been sent to RBI for MD & CEO but a response is still awaited from the apex bank.
Asawa got a touching farewell from the board of directors, officials, and others at the bank premises. An emotional Asawa profusely thanked one and all for their cooperation.
He had been associated with the bank for more than four decades and had seen many ups and downs in the growth of the bank. He started his career at the Mahesh Bank and joined as a clerk in 1979.
Asawa became the CEO in 2010 and at that time the business mix was Rs 1,000 crore but now the business mix is more than Rs 4400 crore.
