Amarnath Reddy Andhra Pradesh minister for industries has recently opened a branch of Andhra Pradesh Brahmin Cooperative Credit Society in Tirupati. The credit society’s financial help has meant liberation of scores of poor women of SriKalahasti and Tirupati from poverty, reports Hindu.
It is an important development in that it indicates the state government’s willingness to promote the welfare of the poorer sections of the Brahmin community.
Andhra Pradesh Brahmin Cooperative Credit Society (ABCCS) is a successful cooperative organization. Recently, it has provided financial assistance to a 40 member women group for preparing eatables like vadiyalu and ariselu.
A source is quoted saying the cooperative society is financially strong and meets all the parameters of being a cooperative bank.
