The veteran co-operator from Maharashtra Vidyadhar Anaskar has been appointed as the Chairman of Pune-based State Cooperative Council. A government body, Anaskar will enjoy the status of a Minister of State here.
Reacting to this development Anaskar said, “I thank the state govt for recognizing my contribution to the co-op sector where I have put in more than 30 years. It feels good when you are appreciated, he added.
“I will try to meet the expectations of the state government as well as cooperatives of the state. The function of the council is to advise the State Government on all matters relating to the co-operative movement. The body also suggests ways of smooth coordination among the co-op societies of the State”, he informed.
Elaborating, Anaskar said that the council’s other objective is to remove difficulties faced by co-ops, make policies for their growth and development and recommend concrete plans for the same. We are also mandated with advising the State Government on implementation of special economic schemes through cooperatives.
As soon as his name was announced, Pune Urban Cooperative Banks Association led by its Chairman Subhash Mohite and others felicitated Anaskar at the association office in Pune.
The term of the council will be from August 6, 2021 for three years or until further orders. Anaskar is also the Chairman of Administrative board of MSC Bank and Vice-President of Nafcub. He is the Acting Director of Vidya Sahakari Bank, Pune.
