The GCMMF board of directors have assembled at Anand to elect the new Chairman and Vice-Chairman of dairy giant, which sells its product under the brand name of Amul, today.
The meeting is currently underway. The names will be announced in a couple of hours.
Sources said, there will likely be a change for the top post but the deputy will be the same. Mehsana Dairy Chairman Ashok Kumar Chaudhari may get the top post.
The election for Amul was held on July 24,2022 for five years but according to the Gujarat State Cooperative Act the Chairman and Vice-Chairman have to get elected midway–that is after every 2 and a half years.
Amul group’s turnover is more than Rs 61,000 crore.
