The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCCMF), under its Amul brand, is poised to expand its organic offerings by introducing Amul Sugar, Jaggery, and Tea within the next month, media reports say.
Already boasting 24 organic products such as wheat flour, rice, and pulses, Amul seeks to further diversify its portfolio. Managing Director Jayen Mehta highlighted the growing consumer demand for organics, spurred by health concerns over chemicals in food and the environmental impact of traditional farming.
Amul’s move also aims at capturing a share of India’s burgeoning $1.3 billion organic market, which is expected to reach $4.6 billion by 2028.
