The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation has partnered with U.S. retail giant Costco to introduce Amul fresh milk to American consumers and the Indian diaspora.
On Tuesday, Amul Gold made its debut in U.S. mainstream retail, with gallon packs now available at Costco stores, media reports say.
Jayen Mehta, managing director of GCMMF, called it a proud milestone. The unique 6% fat content of Amul Gold has attracted wide interest.
Amul plans to expand its distribution to all 750 Costco stores and introduce more dairy products like curd and buttermilk.
