The price of Amul milk has been increased by Rs 2 per litre, effective from Monday, June 3. The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) cited rising operational and production costs as the reason for the hike.
Jayen Mehta, MD of GCMMF, stated the increase aims to compensate farmers.
The revised prices for 500 ml of Amul buffalo milk, Amul Gold milk, and Amul Shakti milk are Rs 36, Rs 33, and Rs 30, respectively.
This hike, representing a 3-4% rise, is lower than the average food inflation and supports remunerative milk prices for producers.
