Internal contradictions within the board of India’s iconic milk cooperative Amul have led to its MD Dr. K.Rathnam demitting his position, media reports say. He was heading Kaira District Co-operative Milk Producers Union Limited (KDCMPUL).
The board accepted his resignation in its special meeting.
Talking to the media, Rathnam said there are personal reasons responsible for his resignation including his decision to spend quality time with his family living in the US.
Queried about charges of corruption, Rathnam challenged the person making such allegations to prove them.
Meanwhile, without naming anyone, Amul chairman Ramsinh Parmar said there is a single member in the board, who by making allegations of corruption, is damaging Amul’s reputation.
