India’s leading dairy cooperative owning the popular Amul brand has lately scored a considerable spike in its exports business. The GCMMF selling its products on the international dairy auction platform Global Dairy Trade (GDT) has been mainly responsible for it.
Amul is the lone Indian dairy unit that uses this global platform for its business. Doing exports through the GDT is highly profitable.
The GCMMF established its ties with the GDT in 2013 and its exports grew by leaps and bounds. The company has exported 20 thousand tonnes of milk products in the current financial year, said R.S.Sodhi MD of GCMMF while talking to Indian Cooperative.
Amul’s products are rated high and are having a competitive edge on the global market. There are 30 countries selling their products through the global platform but Amul has no problem competing with them , noted Mr. Sodhi.
According to Mr. Sodhi, Amul ‘s products are sold through the GDT to buyers from several countries from Asia including Pakistan and China.
