Amul has announced a price cut of Re 1 per kg on its three popular milk variants: Gold, Taaza, and Tea Special. The reduction applies to the 1 kg packs of these variants, offering a slight relief to consumers.
Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which runs Amul, confirmed the price adjustment.
This move comes at a time when several of GCMMF’s member unions have lowered the prices they pay dairy farmers for milk procurement.
This is the first price change for Amul since June 2024, when the company raised milk prices by Rs 2 per litre across all variants, just after the conclusion of the seventh and final round of Lok Sabha elections
