Hitavada reports District Co-operative Bank will give Rs 100 crore for credit to women’s self-help groups for women empowerment in Amravati district in Maharashtra.
Maharashtra women and child development minister Yashomati Thakur said Women’s Development Financial Corporation will also provide women self-help groups with financial assistance for industry and businesses.
The minister revealed this while addressing the program to discuss the progress of self-help groups held by Mahila Economic Development Corporation in Morshi Tehsil of the district.
Stressing the importance of the role of women in society, Mrs. Thakur said various new initiatives and schemes are being undertaken to empower them.
