The Chairman of Gujarat State Cooperative Union G H Amin met and congratulated the newly appointed Chief Minister of the state Bhupendra Patel soon after he took oath at his office. Patel replaced Vijay Rupani, amidst media speculation of BJP preparing for the elections next year.
Amin, who is also the Chairman of the state federation of credit co-ops, said the meeting was just a courtesy call. “We know each other for a long time and in fact he has been participating as a chief guest in many of our co-op events”, said Amin recounting Patel’s participation in women co-op and credit co-op seminars held in the recent past.
I belong to his constituency Ghatlodia and in fact we have been organizing booth meetings for him during the elections, said Amin who also listed a few co-op issues before the new Chief Minister. He has promised to discuss in detail once he settles down, said Amin.
A senior cooperator from the state, Amin is also on the board of the national apex co-op body NCUI.
