National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) bestowed the Financial Inclusion and Banking Technology, Digital Banking 2020 Award on Ahmedabad District Co-operative Bank in Gujarat during a Credit Seminar held in Gandhinagar recently.
The bank as the co-op bank has introduced several innovations in the field of financial inclusion and banking technologies.
The Award was given away by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and it was jointly received by Chairman Ajaybhai Patel and Bank’s Director Kanubhai Desai of the Ahmedabad District Cooperative Bank.
The award presentation function was also attended by Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat Nitinbhai Patel, Minister of Agriculture of Gujarat R. C. Faldu, Minister of Cooperation of Gujarat Ishvarbhai Patel and Minister of State of Gujarat Jaydrathsinh Parmar, among others.
Sharing the details of the credit seminar, NABARD Chief General Manager Dilip Kumar Mishra wrote on his Facebook wall, “The State Credit Seminar by Gujarat Regional Office was organized with participation by Hon’ble CM, Hon’ble Dy CM, Agriculture Minister, Cooperation Minister, Minister of State for Agriculture, ACSs, large number of Secretaries, RD RBI and other top bankers”.
‘The seminar was preceded by flagging off of three financial literacy vans by CM, given by NABARD to Ahmedabad DCCB. Awards were also given to top performers in various fields like SHGs, FPOs, PACS, JLG financing, Technology initiatives by DCCBs”, he further wrote.
On the occasion, CM also flagged off the three mobile ATM vans of Ahmedabad District Cooperative Bank. The objective of these vans is to make farmers informed about the Central Government schemes meant for them. The mobile ATM vans are a facility at their doorstep.
For 2020-21, NABARD has estimated category-wise credit potential estimations of Rs 95980.59 crore for agriculture, Rs 72017.77 crore for MSME and Rs 19356.40 crore for other priority sectors (total Rs 1,87,354.76 crore), said a document.
Last year, NABARD bestowed the Best Performance Cooperative Bank Award on Ahmedabad District Co-operative Bank in Gujarat.
The ADC Bank is having a total business mix of Rs 9600 crore and a network of 202 branches across Ahmedabad and some parts of Gandhinagar. The Bank earned a net profit of Rs 15 crore in the last financial year. Over 1 lakh farmers are associated with the bank.
