Agri Infra Fund: Chauhan inaugurates new web portal

Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has inaugurated a new web portal designed to expedite the processing and settlement of interest subvention claims from banks, under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund.

This portal, a collaborative effort between the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare (DA&FW) and NABARD, aims to replace the months-long manual settlement process with a same-day automated solution.

The launch event was attended by Minister of State for Agriculture Shri Bhagirath Choudhary, the NABARD Chairman, and other senior officials. Alongside the portal, the “Krishi Katha” blog was also launched to share success stories and experiences among the farming community, fostering a learning environment.

This initiative is part of a larger effort by the Modi government to boost farmer incomes, exemplified by the allocation of Rs 1 lakh crore to improve agricultural infrastructure. Currently, investments totaling Rs 72,000 crore have been mobilized, with Rs 43,000 crore already sanctioned for over 67,000 projects.
