The Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies has extended the time for conducting Annual General Meetings of Multi-State Cooperative Banks and Societies till 31st December 2021, according to the delayed news received at the desk of Indian Cooperative.
A letter released from the office of Central Registrar on 13th October 2021 which was signed by Alok Agarwal, Joint Secretary to Govt. of India reads, “Due to present restrictions on movement/gatherings on account of COVID-19, in certain parts of the country, many of the societies have not been able to conduct AGMs within the time period In view of the above it has been decided to extend the time period for conducting AGMs by the societies and banks till 31st December 2021.
“However, societies are advised in their own interest to conduct AGMs at the earliest depending upon the circumstances in their region. This is issued with the approval of the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies”, it concludes.
