The Maharashtra state cooperative department will soon take stern action against fake cooperative societies existing in Nagpur district. The dept. contemplates completing a survey to this effect by the close of, 2015, claimed district deputy registrar, Satish Bhosale, reports Nagpur Today.
A network of fake cooperative societies is spread all over the district. These were opened in the name of housing construction, small industries, employment and consumer welfare.
Cooperative officials, said audit officials and employees would personally visit the villages in tracing out all such registered societies.. The societies which are not existing will be shut down and stern action will be taken against such erring societies, said Satish Bhosale.
There are as many as 5010 cooperative societies in Nagpur district, of which only 3981 societies are actually functioning.
