New Indian Express reports Tamil Nadu milk Cooperative Aavin’s functionaries belonging to various depts of the organization have caused the cooperative to lose several crores of rupees by misspending on advertisements in violation of the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Cooperative Act.
Sources say an internal team of the cooperative investigated and found that Aavin spent Rs 10.74 crore for advertisements as against the permitted limit of Rs 5.63 crore.
Following the revelation of the scandal, Milk Commissioner and Managing Director of Aavin KS Kandasamy urged the State government to punish the sales and auditing department for destroying official records.
