According to Nabard Deputy Managing Director R Amalorpavanathan about 63,000 cooperative societies are being linked with core banking system of cooperative banks at a total cost of Rs 1,900 crore across the country.
Amalorpavanathan said this while visiting Primary Agriculture Cooperative Society, Gattududdenapalli in Telangana, reports Telangana Today.
He said all kinds of measures including computerization are being taken to strengthen the cooperative sector in the country . “Use of technology would enable cooperative bodies to become simple as well as transparent and responsible in their activities and transactions” he stated.
