Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah announced that 35 States and Union Territories (except Kerala) have shown interest in the computerization of the Offices of Registrars of Cooperative Societies.
The Ministry has sanctioned proposals from all these States/UTs, and an amount of Rs 18.22 crore (approx.) has been released to facilitate the project.
With the digital transformation of the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) office, key functions such as registration, amendment of bye-laws, filing of annual returns, branch openings, sale officer appointments, and online payments to Cooperative Education Fund (CEF) and Cooperative Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Development Fund (CRRDF) are now seamlessly managed through an advanced online portal, ensuring compliance with the Multi-State Cooperative Societies (MSCS) Act.
The computerization of the CRCS office has been successfully completed, and the official CRCS portal (www.crcs.gov.in) was launched on August 6, 2023.
