The leading Pune-based Vishweshwar Sahakari Bank which has entered into the golden jubilee year has geared up to celebrate scores of events to mark the celebrations of its 50 years of existence.
Established in November, 1972, the bank is on a growth path and catering to the financial needs of the downtrodden sections of society in the best possible ways, claims UCB’s officials. As of 31st March 2022, the bank crossed a business mix of more than Rs 2,500 crores.
In the series of organizing events to mark the golden jubilee year celebrations, the bank organized a gala event at Pune last week, which was inaugurated by Shri Shri 1008 Jagadaguru Dr. Chandrashekhar Shivacharya Mahaswamiji of Kashi Jangamwadi Math.
On this occasion, the bank Chairman Anil Gadve, BheemaraoPatil, Member of Parliament from Zahirabad constituency, MSC Bank Chairman VidyadharAnaskar, CEO Shriram Apte, shareholders and others were present.
The event was kicked off by felicitating Mahaswamji. Highlighting the bank’s financial achievements, the bank Chairman informed the gathering that as of 31st March 2022, the bank registered the total business mix of Rs 2550 crores. The deposits and advances of the bank stood at Rs 1600 crores and Rs 921 crores respectively.
“The bank earned a net profit of Rs 15 crores. The gross and net NPA stood at 6 percent and 1.92 percent in the 2021-22 financial year. The bank has 28 branches and 22 ATMs in Maharashtra and Karnataka. The bank is striving to achieve a scheduled bank status”, Gadve underlined.
Later on, talking with the Indian Cooperative correspondent the Bank CEO Apte said, “We have entered into the golden jubilee year and will organize many programs in Pune. We are also planning to offer something to our shareholders, who played an important role in this journey”.
The Bank was established by Late Shri Namdeorao Rukari, Bharatsheth Gadve & Baburao Harpale with the noble aim of taking the Bank and banking to the common people by adopting the principle of cooperation.
