Uttarakhand State Cooperative Bank organized its 15th Annual General Meeting at Haldwani, which was attended by scores of members associated with the bank.
Soon after the meeting, talking to Indian Cooperative correspondent Chairman Dan Singh Rawat said, “We have presented a proposal before the delegates to make a world class training centre at Dehradun for co-operators, which was unanimously passed by the members.
The bank will construct its own guest house and training centre at Dehradun to train co-operators. The bank made many announcements to take the bank to newer heights on the occasion, stated Rawat.
It bears recall that Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Sing Rawat and Cooperative Minister Dhan Singh Rawat have assured to give the 22 Bigha plot near Paonta Sahib road to the co-op bank. “We hope that we will get its possession in a few days and lay the foundation stone by the next month”, he said with a sense of satisfaction.
“We have seen several state cooperative banks having their own co-op training centres but, in our state, there is no centre except ICM which is a government entity. Besides, we are also planning to build the guest house and open branches at Gairsain which has been declared the summer capital of Uttarakhand”, he added.
He further said, “We are also in the process to open five branches across Uttarakhand. The file is lying with RBI and hope that we will receive the approval sooner than later. In 2019-20 our bank has earned a net profit of Rs 2.24 crore. This year profit reduced because we made a provision of Rs 15 crore”, he informed on the phone.
The proposed budget of Rs 273.17 crore for the financial year 2021-22 was approved in the meeting by the members. A net profit target of 20.23 crore has been set, with an annual income estimate of 305.00 crore.
Rawat also denied media reports claiming gold coins were distributed as gifts to the board members during the AGM. He stated that we are working under the rules and regulations. We are distributing gifts based on the financial achievements of the bank.
