Reviewing the financial positions of Cooperative Banks, Uttarakhand Cooperation Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat revealed that the state cooperative bank and district cooperative banks earned a gross profit to the tune of Rs 161.59 crore in the 2021-22 financial year.
If the Uttarakhand State Cooperative Bank earned a gross profit of Rs 44 crore, Pithoragarh District Central Cooperative Bank earned the highest profit of Rs 17 .11 crore among DCCBs of the state.
This was the first review meeting of Rawat on the activities of cooperative banks after becoming the cooperative minister second time.
On the occasion, the Minister said, the cooperative loan fairs will be launched at the block level and villagers will get the loan at a zero percent rate of interest.
In his speech, Rawat expressed his disappointment over the reduction in the deposit base of cooperative banks this year due to Corona. “I urge bank officials to make personal efforts to increase the deposit base and achieve the targets”, he said.
It was informed in the meeting that a total loan of Rs 3425. 59 crore has been disbursed to 611192 beneficiaries and 3731 self-help groups from October 2017 to March 31, 2022, under the Deendayal Upadhyaya Sahakarita Kisan Kalyan Yojana.
Addressing the representatives of cooperative banks, the Minister also focused on the computerization of 670 PACs and said till 30th April 2022, the computerization of 57 PACs is almost done and the rest work will complete in a few days. He directed the officials to complete the process in 150 days.
Besides, the Minister also asked officials to implement the one-time settlement scheme for four months after 30th June.
On this occasion, Cooperative Secretary Purushottam Basava, Uttarakhand State Cooperative Bank MD Ira Upreti, Registrar Alok Kumar Pandey, Anand Shukla, UCF MD MP Tripathi, and others were present.
Readers would recall that recently a few DCCBs of the state hogged the media attention in the wake of complaints of massive irregularities in the recruitment process of Class IV category posts in these banks.
