The prolonged strike at Janlaxmi Coop Bank and its branches shows no signs of ending. There are about 400 employees involved in the direct action.
As the employees are adamant on their demands, the appeal made by the Board of Directors of the Bank has not been of any avail.
The protesting employees are demanding better pay scales.
Sources say, because of poor working conditions of the workers, the cooperative sector is also becoming increasingly prone to strikes and stoppage of work.
