Amid negative news related to urban cooperative banks hogging media headlines here comes a piece of good news from the Bassein Catholic Cooperative Bank. A Scheduled Bank of Maharashtra, it has been conferred with “ Sahakar Bhushan” Award for the year 2013 from Konkan Region by the Department of Cooperation and Textile, Government of Maharashtra.
On 16th January, 2014, in a grand ceremony Chief Minister Prithvi Raj Chavan, Dy. Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar, Minister for cooperation Harshvardhan Patil honoured the Bank with cash prize, trophy and the certificate.
The prestigious “Sahakar Bhushan” Award is conferred to the bank as the Best Performing Cooperative Institution in Maharashtra.
Chavan on the occasion said that well managed and sound institutions working with strong social commitment are honoured to encourage similar performances by other cooperative institutions also.
The occasion was graced by many dignitaries in the field of cooperatives. The bank was represented by Shri Domnie D Mello, Ex- chairperson Ms Dominica Dabre, Director Mrs. Tereja Pereira, Director Sh. Aloysius Pereira ad Principal General Manager Mrs Brijdina Coutinho.
