The cooperative sector has jumped on the bandwagon of the trend of “no-car day” aimed at reducing pollution and saving fuel. The Gujarat based Rajkot Nagarik Sahakari Bank is one of the firsts to implement a weekly No Car Day in the Bank every Monday.
Announcing this Jyotindra Mehta wrote on his FB wall “To support the green initiative and reduce air pollution and also reduce use of petrol, Rajkot Nagarik Sahakari Bank implemented a weekly NO CAR DAY in the BANK every Monday.
He said neither the members of the Board nor the officials of the bank would use cars on this day in future.
“On Monday 2nd November the drive was implemented. I was fortunate to receive lift from Shri Nalinbhai Vasa, chairman of the Bank. Happy to spread a good thought”, he wrote while posting a photograph.
Among the fast growing UCbs Rajkot Nagarik Sahakari Bank has inaugurated its Nagpur Branch on Sunday in the presence of Suresh ji (Bhaiyya ji) Joshi, Sarkaryawah of RSS. Amit Shah, President of BJP was also to come but was held up in Bihar due to counting preparations, Mehta informed this correspondent.
