The Rajasthan Urban Cooperative Banks Federation organized the “Multi-State Urban Cooperative Banking Summit and Awards 2024” under the theme “Creating Values Through Technology” in Jaipur recently. The event witnessed participation from over 200 representatives, including delegates from 20 cooperative banks in Rajasthan, urban banks from other states, and other stakeholders.
The summit was inaugurated by NAFCUB President Laxmi Das, who was invited as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries gracing the occasion included O.P. Sharma, Alka Srivastava, Yogesh Sharma, M.L. Sharma and others.
In his inaugural address, Laxmi Das commended the Rajasthan Federation for being the first in India to conduct director-level training programs for all urban banks under NAFCUB’s initiatives.
He highlighted the remarkable progress made by urban banks despite various challenges and credited the establishment of the Ministry of Cooperation under Amit Shah for fostering a positive shift in the RBI’s approach toward cooperative banks.
Das emphasized the importance of adopting uniform technology and CBS systems across banks, irrespective of size, and called for enhanced technical vigilance and effective integration of technology. He further stressed the need to strengthen IT teams within banks and employ trained technical staff.
He reiterated that cooperative banks are not solely profit-driven but aim to serve all sections of society, delivering high-quality services while sharing dividends with their members.
Speaking at the event, Rajasthan Urban Cooperative Banks Federation Chairman Mohan Parashar expressed heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished attendees for their valuable presence and contributions, which ensured the event’s success.
He highlighted the significant progress made by urban cooperative banks (UCBs) in Rajasthan, emphasizing their pivotal role in fortifying the cooperative banking sector in the state.
Parashar noted that Rajasthan’s UCBs have expanded their outreach and embraced technological advancements and innovation to enhance operational efficiency and customer service.
The one-day summit featured insightful panel discussions on various key topics and presentations by leading technology companies. The event concluded with the presentation of awards recognizing the outstanding achievements of Rajasthan’s urban banks across multiple categories for 2023-24.
A day before the main event, a special session was held on the Umbrella Organization initiative by NAFCUB. The session, led by NAFCUB CEO Shri Prabhat Chaturvedi and CTO Shri Padambhushan Bahadure, provided detailed insights into the objectives and benefits of the initiative for urban banks.
Laxmi Das urged all banks to become members of the Umbrella Organization and strengthen both national and state-level federations.
