Raigad District Central Co-op Bank completes PACS computerization

The Raigad District Central Cooperative Bank (RDCCB) in Maharashtra has successfully completed the computerization of its affiliated Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS).

This milestone was officially inaugurated last week in Alibag by NABARD Chairman Shaji K.V., in the presence of RDCCB Chairman Jayant Patil and other dignitaries.

The initiative aims to enhance the efficiency and transparency of cooperative institutions in rural areas.

During his address, NABARD Chairman Shaji K.V. emphasized the transformative impact of computerization in improving transparency and operational efficiency within cooperative institutions. He pointed out that this effort is part of a broader national agenda to integrate rural cooperative bodies and promote economic empowerment.

An official statement from the bank reads: “Under the leadership of Chairman Jayant Patil, Raigad DCCB is playing a pivotal role in strengthening PACS. With this computerization, it has become the first bank in the country to achieve this feat.”

Jayant Patil described the project as a historic moment for the bank and reaffirmed RDCCB’s commitment to serving farmers and economically weaker sections of society. He also underscored the bank’s role in promoting rural development.

NABARD CGM Rashmi Darade commended RDCCB’s accomplishment, noting that the bank had set a new benchmark for cooperative institutions nationwide.

State Cooperative Election Commissioner Anil Kawade echoed this sentiment, describing the computerization of cooperative institutions as a landmark achievement under Patil’s leadership. He added that such initiatives would strengthen the cooperative system and bring long-term benefits to rural communities.

Several key dignitaries attended the event, including RDCCB Vice Chairman Suresh Khaire, MLA Kishor Darade, former MLA Dattatreya Sawant, bank CEO Mandar Vartak, and other notable guests.

RDCCB oversees 126 PACS in Raigad district, and it identified 122 for computerization based on their profitability and performance. Additionally, 107 PACS now have Common Service Centers (CSCs), 56 have PM Kisan Samruddhi Kendras, and 5 have applied for Jan Aushadhi Kendras.
