Addressing PACCs’ Chairmen in Purnea in Bihar, Cooperative Minister Rana Randhir Singh said a farmer welfare centre will be developed with the intention of strengthening PACS in the state.
Speaking at the AGM of Purnea DCCB, Rana Randhir also assured that maize would now be purchased through PACCs in KosiSeemanchal so that the farmers get good return on their investment.
It bears recall that District Central Cooperative Bank in Purnea in Bihar organized its 27th Annual General Meeting last week where Cooperative Minister Rana Randhir Singh was the chief guest.
Singh said the government has given a managerial amount of Rs 10 per quintal to PACCs presidents on the purchase of paddy and will also consider increasing the managerial amount received by PACS.
Singh said the PACCs will be computerized so that they can work effectively. For those farmers who repay the loan at the right time, our government will provide interest-free Kisan Credit Card loans to them.
The Cooperative Minister also inaugurated the mobile ATM van on the occasion.
The Minister also shared the news through social media and wrote, “Attended the Annual General Meeting of Purnia District Cooperative Bank”.
Hira Prasad Singh the bank president said compared to the procurement of 51 crore in the financial year 2017-18, there was a procurement of 174 crore in the year 2018-19. The interest burden on PACCS has increased by 2.25 crore due to late payment by SFC for the last 6 years, he remarked.
He demanded a KCC loan at zero percent interest to farmers along with running a beneficial scheme for the development of farmers on the lines of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Punjab.
Meanwhile, the bank’s MD Kavindra Nath Thakur said the bank’s NPA was 17. 51 percent in the year 2017-18, which has come down to 11.78 percent in the year 2018-19. He said the bank is continuously trying to reduce the NPA. He also said that work is being done to upgrade all 19 branches of the bank.
Ramchandra Singh Yadav, President of Araria DCCB highlighted the problems of PACS.
The bank’s Vice-Chairman Birendra Prasad Yadav, Bihar State Cooperative Bank Chairman Ramesh Chandra Chaubey, Biscomaun Director Mahesh Rai and others were present on the occasion.
