The senior cooperator and Minister in Karnataka government H K Patil is confident NAFCUB would come out of the crisis created in the wake of Arbitrator’s judgment setting aside the election of Jyotindra Mehta as President.
”I have not seen the judgment but when we meet I am confident it would be resolved through negotiations”, he told Indian Cooperative from Bangalore on the phone.
As the Board meeting where leaders can talk informally and freely is not happening soon, the imbroglio of the apex UCB body lingers on”, said a Nafcub insider.
“We had met only this September; it would take another couple of months for the Board to meet again, said Subhas Gupta Chief Executive of NAFCUB. He however failed to explain under which Act the Central Registrar has stayed the judgment of Arbitrator.
Readers would recall the Central Registrar had ruled that the status-quo be maintained in the wake of Arbitrator’s judgment which restored Mukund Abhyankar as the President.
The verdict came on 29th September and on 30th September Central Registrar Ashish Bhutani ordered that the status of the NAFCUB Board as on 28th September has to be maintained till further orders, sources say.
Jyotindrabhai Mehta who is mulling over his next course of action after consultation with his advocates has not finalized his next move yet, sources add. He is most likely to go to court for which he has about 30 days of time, it said.
Earlier, arbitration had set aside proceedings of the two board meetings 147th and 148th. In the 147th Board meeting, a no-confidence motion was passed against Abhyankar and the 148th meeting decided to go for fresh elections.
The Arbitrator stated that proceedings adopted for removal of claimant, Dr Mukund Abhyankar in the 147th meeting dated 25.02.2016 were illegal and invalid.
