Cooperative banks need to accelerate towards bringing PACS Societies on technology platform and adopt RuPay credit card facility. Because of lack of professionalism and improper governance, cooperatives are not moving ahead, said NABARD Chairman Dr H K Bhanwala who was invited as the chief guest during the National Seminar on “Roadmap to enhance the share of cooperatives in Agriculture credit” organized by the apex body of state cooperative banks NAFSCOB in Mumbai on Monday.
Addressing chairmen and CEOs of different state cooperative banks and district central cooperative banks, Bhanwala announced that the benefits which are given to farmers on crop loans should be amended and also the interest subvention scheme.

Bhutani stressed on the need for professional approach in the use of manpower in cooperatives, he said in his speech.
Deputy Managing Director of Nabard Mr H R Dave urged representatives from different coop banks to fulfill the target to distribute RuPay Debit Cards to farmers till 31st March. He assured that Nabard is there to help co-op banks upgrade themselves technologically.
Dileepbhai Sanghani welcomed the dignitaries and informed that we will soon upgrade the technology in our banking activities. He also put emphasis on how to secure the income of farmers, he told this correspondent on the phone soon after the programme.
NAFSCOB Managing Director Bhima Subrahmanyam highlighted the objectives of the seminar and problems being faced by the cooperative banking sector especially in DCCB’s due to demonetization and urged the representatives from GOI to minimize their problems.
