Swapnil Awade and CA Sanjay Kumar Anigol have been elected unopposed as the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of Kallappanna Awade Ichalkaranji Janata Sahakari (Kaijs) Bank respectively. The elections were held last week.
Awade has replaced Prakash Awade whereas Anigol replaced Chandrakant Chougule.
The newly elected Chairman is the son of the outgoing Chairman of the bank and junior Awade’s wife Vaishali Awade had drawn the media headlines when she was elected as the Vice-chairperson of Maharashtra Urban Cooperative Banks Association.
Meanwhile, talking to the Indian Cooperative Awade said, “I am very thankful to the board members who reposed faith in me and gave me such a big responsibility. We will work together to take the bank to newer heights”.
He further added, we would also launch several schemes in the interest of customers. We will also work on having the new technology in our activities.
The board comprises 18 directors out of which eight are newcomers and the rest are old hands. This time the board has not allowed those who have completed two years tenure to remain on the board.
As soon as Awade’s name was announced as the new Chairman, his followers lost no time in greeting him through social media platforms.
Joint Registrar of Cooperative Societies Arun Kakade had been appointed as the returning officer.
Kaijs Bank’s total business mix is more than Rs 3700 crore and in the last financial year in 2021-22, the bank earned a net profit of Rs 11.63 crore.
