Indian Cooperative, which participated in the digital exhibition at Vigyan Bhawan on the occasion of a national conclave on UCBs and credit co-operatives, was a great hit among the visitors.
“We have read so much from the only news portal on cooperative but this is for the first time that we are meeting you all in person, ” said many visitors. It is no secret that the cooperative portal which is bilingual English and Hindi covers cooperative news from Kerala to Kashmir.
Eager to pose before the Digital Exhibition several co-operators came forward to be photographed, encouraging the team which has been covering the cooperative scene for more than a decade.

He was surprised to know that more than 1.5 lac visitors come to the portal on a daily basis. Starting off in the year 2010, Indian Cooperative grossed a hit of 30k in the beginning but slowly the readership expanded and as of today it is getting more than 1.5 lac daily hits.
The cooperative news portal covers almost all the sectors of cooperatives which include primary co-op societies, fertiliser co-operatives, dairy co-operatives, credit co-operatives, weavers’ co-ops, and many more. You name it and we have it on our portal, claimed its Editor in Chief Ajay Jha.
The primary motivation of the portal is to strengthen the cooperative movement in the country. “It is the model which is suited for a country like India where business values cannot be divorced from societal and familial values”, asserts the Editor.
Disagreeing with the popular opinion, Jha says that mostly co-operators are a selfless lot and they are working for the good of members and for the good of society. It is only a few, a tiny few who tarnish the image of the cooperative sector. The sector needs to have its own watchdog to keep the system pure and unmolested, asserted Jha.
