Gujarat Urban Co-operative Banks Federation and a distinguished monthly journal Governance Today recently held a discussion in Ahmedabad on the Urban Co-operative Banking sector. The discussions were focused on identifying the challenges and future prospects of the cooperative banking sector in the country.
The high level discussion was presided by Jyotindra Mehta, President, NAFCUB and Chairman, GUCBF. V S Das, Advisor, GUCBF; R N Joshi, IAS (Retd), CEO, GUCBF, Suma Varma, Principal CGM, RBI, Mumbai also participated in the discussion. Nearly five hundred experts including bank professionals and IT technorati took part in the discussions.
The inaugural session debated the present scenario of the urban cooperative sector (UCB) in banking. The panel discussions that followed dealt with the futuristic role of cyber security and management technologies in the sector.
Leading corporate entities including Samsung, TM Systems, DHFL Pramerica Life Insurance, Securens, Senrysa, Equitas, Integra, and Cyberoam and many others had their representatives in the discussions.
An expo had been organized on the occasion showcasing the most sophisticated IT technologies available for the urban cooperative banking sector.
