Amid complaints pouring in against the former board, the election dates of Uttar Pradesh based Farrukhabad District Cooperative Bank is announced and the voting will take place on 7th April 2020.
Sources say leaders of Samajwadi Party had been controlling cooperative banks for the last several years in UP but now BJP is likely to control them.
The election of Chairman and Vice-Chairman will be held on 8th April 2020.
Last year, during the AGM of bank there was a fierce dispute with the BJP leaders. Both the party leaders had pelted stones. Many leaders were injured.
Meanwhile, SP District President Nadeem Ahmad said SP would again control the management of Farrukhabad District Cooperative Bank. Ahmad is being countered by local BJP leaders led by Rupesh Gupta, who has vowed to end SP’s supremacy in the DCCB.
BJP district president Rupesh Gupta said that the party leadership has okayed candidates and there is no opposition to it. The decision of the party is foremost and we are ready to take on the challenges.
Readers would recall that the 12 out of 13 directors on the board were found disqualified. Later, the board was suspended and district magistrate had been made the Administrator in December 2019.
The banks have been controlled by SP leaders since 1967. However, BJP leaders are now planning to capture District Cooperative Banks of Uttar Pradesh.
