Vigilance sleuths have arrested a local BJD leader for allegedly forging documents to
get a loan of Rs seven lakh in a Cooperative Bank in Sundargarh district of Orissa.
Ram Chandra Nayak, former Chairman of Bargaon block, had obtained the loan from Bargaon branch of cooperative bank after submitting fake documents relating to his land and house property in 2004-05, vigilance sources said.
Nayak had been ignoring the Bank’s notices for repayment of his loan amounting to about Rs 12 lakh including interest.
The vigilance after receiving the complaint verified Nayak’s documents which were found to be fake and arrested him yesterday, sources said.
