All 28 branches of the Erode District Central Cooperative Bank would be modernised at a cost of Rs four crore, bank officials said.
The fund has been allocated from Rs 36 crore granted to the Erode District Cooperatives under the Integrated Cooperative Development Project (ICDP) scheme, they told PTI.
It would be used to computerise the bank operations and also upgrade infrastructure facilities.
The officials said already the bank, with more than Rs 700 crore deposit, was advancing upto Rs 20 lakhs housing loan for an individual. Jewel loans to the tune of Rs 100 crore had been granted so far.
