Result of the elections for the board of directors of Bombay Mercantile bank is out. S M Lala Jan Basha and Syed Ali Kadri are voted as Chairman and Vice-Chairman respectively.
There were nearly three scores of candidates in the fray but a little more than a dozen of them only could come up trumps in the election.
The victory of S M Lala Jan Basha, a former MP and Syed Ali Kadri as Chairman and Vice-Chairman has enthused the bank’s employees. The latter are confident that the new management would sincerely try to solve the problems that have pushed the bank into a serious crisis.
The workers of the bank feel the image of this solitary bank of the minority has taken a hammering over the last years and it is time the new management adequately repaired it through its prudence and efficiency.
Sources close to the bank say the election of the new team has not only generated optimism among all the stakeholders but also created an attitude of confidence among the bank workers about the newly voted team acting with responsibility and shrinking from taking decisions on the hoof in the days ahead.
