Beed District Central Cooperative bank which saw the resignation drama followed by arrest of some of its directors recently had a new administrator on Saturday.
The Maharashtra government has appointed a one-member administrator committee on the Beed District Central Cooperative Bank (BDCCB). Divisional Joint Registrar Co-operative society (Audit, Aurangabad ) Damodhar Kamble, who assumed the charge.
Mr Kamble said, “I have taken charge today and my first priority would be to recover the long pending loans and see that the day-to-day work of the bank starts smoothly as it came to a standstill since last two months”.
Sources said that the crop loan distributed to the farmers by the bank is nearly Rs 814 crore and the co-operative societies are given a total loan of Rs 272 crore. The recovery drive will be launched from 14th of this month, said Kamble.
