In a massive country-wide campaign the Modi govt has fielded several veteran leaders including Union Home Minister Raj Nath Singh and Uma Bharati in rural areas of the country to provide farmers with information about how to derive benefits from the newly launched Fasal Bima Yojna.
The flagship project aimed at taking care of farmers’ woes in a comprehensive manner is being popularized by these leaders through farmers’ fair, being actively organized and monitored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
From members of Parliament to Central Ministers- all of them could be seen interacting with famers these days. Besides Raj Nath Singh, others who are active include Radha Mohan Singh, Kalraj Mishra Uma Bharti and Mohanbhai Kundariya.
Prominent MPs involved in the campaign are Sher Singh Gobaya ; Ashwani Kr Chopra ; Virender Kashyap ; Chaudhari BabuLal ; Anupriya Patel and Jagdambika Pal.
The meetings with farmers are being organized through 583 Krishi Vigyan Kendras. Till now , farmers’ fairs have been organised at 90 locations. In the programme the farmers are being made aware about other schemes also and the information, knowledge and advisory on various crops, horticulture, livestock and poultry related questions are also being offered by the Scientists in the farmers-Scientists interface programme being organised by the KVKs.
The literature on the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Beema Yojana is being distributed among farmers, question-answer sessions are being held and a comprehensive CD being shown to farmers.
