Breaking free from the routine, the apex cooperative body in the country NCUI joined hands with others to launch farmers’ awareness campaign. BJP Vice-President and Cooperative Cell Head Shyam Jaju flagged off a “Kisan Jagriti Padyatra” in New Delhi on Thursday for creating awareness among the country’s farmers about plans and policies initiated by the Narendra Modi government in their interest.
Behind the scene those organizations which lent their support to this campaign were the NCUI and the Andhra Pradesh based Mudra Agriculture and Skill Development Multi State Cooperative Society.
NCUI Chief Executive N Satyanaryan was present along with his team which included NCCE Head V K Dubey and others. NLCF director and Ex-GC member of NCUI Ashok Dabbas was also present on the occasion.
Addressing a large number of media persons , Jaju said “Farmers and farming is the main focus of the Narendra Modi govt. Winding through a huge swathe of the country and covering a considerable of distance of 873 km , the
“The yatra will take about 30 days to reach its destination. During the period, those taking part in it will interact with farmers and reach out to the farmers at the grassroots level, he added.
Talking to Indian Cooperative Jaju said “The objective of the Yatra is to create awareness among farmers about the govt policies”.
The padyatris will hold discussions with farmers about Fasal Bhima Yozana, schemes of Nabard, facilities being offered by Krishi Vigyan Kendras, Animal Sanjivni Schemes and several other schemes, he said.
