South India Regional Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India feels that cooperatives and banks are not adequately supplied with qualified chartered accountants.
Dr Prasanna Kumar Chairman,South Regional Council underlined the crucial role of the chartered accountants as auditors in cooperatives while addressing the inaugural function of the first Tamil Nadu Sub-Regional Conference of the council in Madurai.
Prasanna called for remedying the lack of needed professionals in the cooperative sector. The SIRC is contacting cooperatives and asking them to utilize the services of the chartered accountants, he informed.
He added the qualified chartered accountants would greatly help cooperative organisations streamline their accounting, finances and governance.
A large number of distinguished chartered accountants and officials from across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry attended the meeting.
