Adv. Pralhad Kokare has been unanimously re-elected as the Chairman of Cosmos Cooperative Bank, with CA Yashwant Kasar securing the position of Vice-Chairman.
The election, held on Thursday, witnessed a seamless decision-making process, though the official announcement awaits approval from the Cooperative Election Authority.
Adv. Kokare, a stalwart in the cooperative banking sector, has been a part of the Board of Directors since December 2004, marking nearly 21 years of service. He previously held the Vice-Chairman position during 2019-2020 and 2020-2021.
A retired Joint Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Kokare has actively been contributing to various board committees over the past two decades, earning a reputation as a dynamic and influential leader.
CA Yashwant Kasar, a distinguished financial professional, brings a wealth of expertise to the Vice-Chairman role. With credentials including Fellow Chartered Accountant, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and Project Management Professional (PMP), Kasar’s contributions to the banking and financial sector are widely recognized.
He currently serves as a Regional Council Member of the Western India Regional Council (WIRC) of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and has previously chaired the Pune Branch of WIRC.
The newly elected Board of Directors includes Rasika Gupta, Surekha Joshi, Praveenkumar Gandhi, Ajit Gijara, Subramaniam Santhanam, Ghanshyam Amin, Sachin Apte, Yashwant Kasar, Arvind Taware, Balasaheb Sathe, Anushree Malgaonkar, and Rekha Pokale.
Cosmos Cooperative Bank, a leading name in the cooperative banking sector, achieved a significant milestone in the financial year 2023-24 by reporting a net profit of Rs 384 crore.
The bank’s total business volume surged to Rs 35,408 crore, reflecting a robust growth of 15.16% (Rs 4,662 crore) compared to the previous year. Deposits increased by Rs 2,587 crore to Rs 20,216 crore, while advances rose by Rs 2,075 crore, reaching Rs 15,192 crore.
