In a remarkable display of cooperative unity, Kribhco made history by electing an entirely new board without a single vote being cast. Following the withdrawal of several candidates, the final list of board members was promptly published on Kribhco’s official website. This unprecedented election saw all 11 seats filled unopposed, highlighting the cooperative spirit of India’s second-largest fertilizer cooperative.
The man credited for orchestrating this smooth process is Dr. Chandra Pal Singh Yadav, the outgoing Chairman and President of the International Cooperative Alliance-Asia Pacific (ICA-AP).
The new board includes notable newcomers Ajay Rai, Shilpi Arora, Kabita Parida, and Bipin Patel, while several experienced directors retained their positions. Initially, seven candidates were elected unopposed. During the withdrawal process for the remaining four seats, candidates stepped aside to ensure unanimous elections, a testament to mutual understanding and cooperation.
As reported earlier, Tejpal withdrew his nomination from Constituency No. VI to support Dr. Chandra Pal Singh Yadav. In turn, Dr. Yadav, who had filed his nomination for Constituency No. XI against Ms. Shilpi Arora withdrew his candidacy to support her.
Similarly, in Constituency No. V, Gujarat cooperator Paresh Patel stepped aside for Bhikhabhai Patel, while in Constituency No. X, Narinder Kumar Bhadu and Gurupartap Singh withdrew to support Ajay Rai, an outgoing director from Uttar Pradesh.
The elected directors for the 11 constituencies are as follows:
- Constituency I: R. Rajendra
- Constituency II: Bipin Patel
- Constituency III: Bijendra Singh
- Constituency IV: Kabita Parida
- Constituency V: Bhikhabhai Patel
- Constituency VI: Dr. Chandra Pal Singh
- Constituency VII: Maganbhai Vadaviya
- Constituency VIII: V. Sudhakar Chowdary
- Constituency IX: Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat
- Constituency X: Ajay Rai
- Constituency XI: Shilpi Arora
Among the elected directors, four—Bipin Patel, Ajay Rai, Kabita Parida, and Shilpi Arora—are newcomers, while the remaining members bring valuable experience to the board.
Notably, Telangana cooperator and outgoing director Poonam Prabhakar, who also serves as a minister in Revanth Reddy’s cabinet, chose not to contest this election.
The official election results will be announced upon approval by the Cooperative Election Authority on January 7, 2025. Elections for office bearers, including the Chairman and Vice-Chairman, are scheduled for January 9, 2025.
In the fiscal year 2023-24, Kribhco demonstrated robust financial health, achieving a gross profit of Rs 334 crore, a testament to its effective strategic leadership and operational excellence.
