Sahakar Bharati will host its 8th National Conference from December 6th to 8th, 2024, in Amritsar, Punjab. Amritsar is renowned as the home of the Sikh’s revered Golden Temple, the Jallianwala Bagh site, and the legacy of martyrs like Bhagat Singh and Udham Singh, and is celebrated globally for its rich heritage and hospitality.
Around 2,500 delegates from across India are expected to attend this significant conference.
Scheduled to begin at 2:30 pm on December 6th and conclude at 2:00 pm on December 8th, the conference will cover topics such as the cooperative sector’s expansion, organizational growth, and Sahakar Bharati’s three-year strategic vision.
Sarkaryavah of the RSS, Shri Dattatreya Hosabale, will deliver the inaugural address on December 7, 2024. Awards commemorating the contributions of Shraddhyey Laxmanrao Inamdarji and Sahakar Bharati’s first working president, Shri Mahadev Hari Annasaheb Godbole, will be presented during the inaugural session.
During this conference, Sahakar Bharati will elect its National President and General Secretary for the upcoming three years.
The Union Minister of Road, Transport, and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, will attend the concluding session, while the Union Minister of State for Cooperation, Shri Muralidhar Mohol, has been invited for the inaugural session, with his attendance anticipated.
In a press release Sahakar Bharati claims that it stands as the only nationwide organization uniting Co-operators and Cooperatives across India. Its vision encompasses the formation of a dedicated network of selfless CoOperators and interconnected CoOperatives, fostering the cooperative movement’s knowledge in both rural and urban regions.
In today’s challenging circumstances, Sahakar Bharati sees this movement as the ‘saviour’ for the empowerment of small farmers, landless laborers, tribal communities, women, self-help groups (SHGs), joint liability groups (JLGs), rural artisans and technicians, and unemployed youth from middle- and lower-income backgrounds, reads the release.
Currently, Sahakar Bharati operates in 28 states and over 650 districts nationwide, championing the belief that cooperatives are essential for the sustainable development of society’s economically marginalized sectors.
