The apex body of cooperatives-NCUI’s four day International training Program in collaboration with Centre for International Cooperation and Training in Agricultural Banking (CICTAB) and the Amreli District Cooperative Union kicked off on Monday.
The training program, titled “Project Approach to Cooperative Development: Sharing Experiences of NCUI Cooperative Education Field Project,” is being held at the Awadh Heritage Resort in Amreli, Gujarat.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by NCUI President Dileep Sanghani, and other notable figures such as Amreli MP Naranbhai Kachhadiya, Amreli District Cooperative Milk Producers Union President Ashwinbhai Savaliya, NCUI Deputy CE Savitri Singh, Amreli District Cooperative Union President Manish Sanghani, among others.
With 33 participants representing Nepal, Sri Lanka, and various regions of India, the program served as a platform for knowledge exchange and capacity building in cooperative development.
Addressing the participants on this occasion, NCUI President Dileepbhai Sanghani said, “Cooperative is working in different countries on different principles but in India, our Prime Minister formed a separate Ministry for cooperation for strengthening the cooperative sector. There are 8 lakh cooperatives in India with which 30 crore people are associated”, he said.
The first session, focusing on Cooperative Education Field Projects, commenced with a presentation by D. D. Chauhan, Project Officer of the NCUI Field Project, Gandhinagar.
His insights into socio-economic developmental activities for Self-Help Groups (SHGs) laid a strong foundation for understanding cooperative initiatives aimed at community empowerment.
Following this, CA Gopal Dhakan from Surat delved into the critical aspects of cooperative banking and financial decision-making, offering valuable expertise to the participants.
This collaborative effort underscores the commitment of NCUI, CICTAB, and the Amreli District Cooperative Union towards fostering cooperative development on both national and international fronts.
By facilitating the exchange of experiences and best practices, such initiatives play a pivotal role in advancing the cooperative movement and driving socio-economic progress in communities worldwide.
