During the Indo-German Negotiations held at Vigyan Bhavan last week, NCUI CE Sudhir Mahajan presented a strong case for formalizing a bilateral agreement between Ministry of Cooperation, GoI (with NCUI as implementing agency) and the concerned ministry of Govt. of Germany for three years.
“The German side agreed to provide technical cooperation to NCUI through one of its ongoing projects on livelihoods in India and finalise a long-term bilateral agreement in 2024”. It was claimed by the NCUI on its facebook wall.
It further read, “This will be the first-of-its kind collaboration wherein GIZ, India will provide technical cooperation to NCUI in areas of cooperative entrepreneurship, training and capacity development, communication strategies, developing enterprise models, facilitating exchange programs, etc., for strengthening gender transformation, agroecology and enhancing sustainable livelihoods in agriculture, dairy and other allied sectors in India”.
In the meeting, senior officials of Dept. of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance and many ministries of Govt. of India and state governments along with representatives of Govt. of Germany participated.
