A news outlet reports the Arunachal Pradesh State Cooperative Development Committee (SCDC) has given the green light for setting up more 490 cooperative societies.
These include 150 large multipurpose cooperative societies (LAMPS), 157 dairy cooperative societies, and 184 fisheries cooperative societies across the state over the next five years.
The committee in its first meeting at Itanagar on Thursday with Chief Secretary Dharmendra as the chair, also approved the setting up of a 500-metric-ton grain storage plan by Namsai LAMPS on a pilot basis.
The chief secretary also reviewed the measures taken by the state department of cooperation in executing various plans of the union cooperation ministry in the state, sources informed.
