Denying the claims of Nafscob Managing Director of not being invited to the two day National Conference of Nabard at BIRD, Lucknow, the top official of Nabard on condition of anonymity shared the invitation letter sent to the Nafscob Chairman K Ravindra Rao by Nabard on 6th October 2023.
The Nabard official was reacting to the media report published by Indian Cooperative on 17th October 2023, with a title, “Nabard’s conference on rural co-op banking ignores Nafscob”.
The copy of the invitation letter sent to Nafscob Chairman is with the Indian Cooperative. The letter titled, ‘National Conference on Best Practices in Rural Cooperative Banks-16-17 October 202 at BIRD, Lucknow’. According to the letter, the Chairman was invited to deliver a ‘Special address, during the inaugural session.
Earlier talking to the Indian Cooperative correspondent, Nafscob MD Bhima Subrahmanyam said, “Our Chairman who is also Governing Council Member of BIRD is also not aware of this. Nabard may like to get the views of Rural cooperative Banks directly from them without NAFSCOB. We wish them all the best”.
The two day national conference kicked off on 16th October 2023 and concluded on Tuesday, in which the representatives from state cooperative banks, district central cooperative banks and others took part.
